The safety and well being of your dog is my priority and their grooming experience should be enjoyable, calm and stress free.
I will do everything I can to keep your dog relaxed and happy, treating your dog as if it were my own.
I only groom one dog at a time allowing your dog to feel at ease in the grooming room. Should your dog require breaks during or after the groom, then they will have the freedom to move about the space as necessary.
On arrival I will carry out a full consultation with you whereby we can discuss your requirements for your dog and any grooming concerns that you might have. We can then look at the grooming options available following which your dog will then receive a grooming health check before commencing the groom.
All of my equipment has been carefully selected to ensure that your dog has the best possible grooming experience:
All my grooming services take the welfare of your dog very seriously and humanity always comes before vanity.
The different grooming services available here at Top Dogs are as follows:
Whilst some dogs coats never require being cut or clipped, all dogs will benefit from a bath, brush and blow dry. This groom includes a warm, double shampoo, conditioner if necessary, a gentle all over massage to release muscle tension and relax your dog, blow drying and a thorough brush through of the hair to remove any little knots, a hygiene trim, trimming under the pads, cutting the nails and ear cleaning/plucking.
The full groom is for a dog with long or short hair who needs hand scissoring or clipping. This service includes a warm double shampoo, conditioner if necessary, a gentle all over massage to release muscle tension and relax your dog, blow drying, cutting the hair (either a breed standard cut or as discussed at the consultation), a hygiene trim, trimming under the pads, cutting the nails and ear cleaning/plucking.
Your puppy’s first experience at a grooming salon can affect how they react to being groomed for the rest of their life. This is why it why it is paramount to make their first experience as calm and relaxed as possible. If your puppy is nervous, their first visit will simply be to familiarise them with the setting of the grooming room, noises and smells and will not last more than 10-15 minutes.
For more confident puppies a longer visit can be scheduled to introduce them to the grooming experience whereby they will have a warm shampoo, a gentle blow dry and be brushed or combed. If your puppy seems comfortable then I will trim around their hygiene areas, under the pads, clip the tips of their nails and clean their ears. However if the puppy is beginning to show signs of having had enough after their brushing or combing through, a follow up appointment can be made to finish the other aspects of the groom.
